The Cursa de Rățuște is not merely a spectacular and colourful event. It is one of the most beloved projects of Rotaract Club Oradea and a way in which the entire community can contribute, through a simple gesture, to the development of projects with local impact.
Each numbered duck represents a donation.
By adopting a duck, you support the activity and projects developed by Rotaract Club Oradea. On race day, all ducks are launched simultaneously on the Criș, and the first ones to cross the finish line bring prizes to those who adopted them.
It is a simple, transparent and accessible mechanism for anyone who wishes to get involved.
How ten thousand ducks are launched
They are gathered in a large net, held by eight people on the bridge, and released at a signal. The rest is done by the water.
